Westgate is 0.8 miles in a straight line from Columbus Tire Shop at 3651 Sullivant Ave. Before you accept any tire install quote, ask what it covers: mounting, balancing, new valve stems and old-tire disposal are often itemised separately, and the total matters more than the per-tire figure.
If you are comparing tire quotes from Westgate, compare totals, not per-tire prices. The same four tires can look cheap or expensive depending on what is left off the line items.
This page is about reading a quote properly. The shop at 3651 Sullivant Ave is 0.8 miles from Westgate, so you can easily ask your questions in person.
What should a tire installation quote include?
Ask for an out-the-door number. Then ask line by line whether it includes the following, because each is sometimes a separate charge at shops everywhere:
- Mounting the tire on the wheel
- Balancing each wheel
- New valve stems or sensor service kits
- Disposal of the old tires
- Taxes and any shop fee
Is mounting and balancing the same thing?
No. Mounting puts the tire on the rim. Balancing adds small weights so the wheel spins without wobble. A set that is mounted but not balanced will shake the steering wheel at highway speed.
If a quote lists one without the other, ask why.
