Hilltop sits 1.3 miles from the shop at 3651 Sullivant Ave, measured as a straight line on the map. That is a figure for planning, not a drive time, because streets and traffic add to it. For Hilltop it is a short enough trip that a quick phone call first costs you less than a wasted one.
Most of the work of a tire visit happens before you arrive: knowing what you need, and checking that it is on hand.
What should I have ready before heading over from Hilltop?
Read the size code molded into the sidewall of the tire you have now. It is a run of numbers and letters, and it is the first thing anyone will ask you for. The placard inside the driver's door jamb lists the size the manufacturer specified, which helps if you are changing sizes or the old tires are too worn to read.
Say whether you want one tire or a set. A single replacement on a car with otherwise worn tires can leave the new one with a different diameter than the other three, so ask whether it makes sense to replace in pairs.
- Size code from the sidewall
- Whether you are replacing one tire, two, or four
- Any vibration or pull you have noticed, so it gets mentioned at the counter
